Coccidia and Dogs
Coccidiosis is an intestinal tract infection caused by one-celled organisms (protozoa) called coccidia and can potentially be deadly to young puppies if left untreated. Coccidiosis usually is not a great threat to a healthy adult dog unless they have a compromised immune system (also called immunosupressed) The most common type of coccidia in dogs is Isospora canis.
